The creation of the Jardins de Bagatelle fragrance by Guerlain was inspired by the story of how Queen Marie Antoinette wagered with Count d'Artois. The Queen was certain that the Count could not possibly build a real castle on the site of a demolished cottage in just ten weeks. Yet, in the Bois de Boulogne, a magnificent majestic castle was erected, and within the Guerlain collection - a new women's fragrance, Jardins de Bagatelle, was born.
The composition of Jardins de Bagatelle is a complex interweaving of floral-musky notes. Breathing in this scent, one is involuntarily transported to a blooming garden, where the air is filled with the fragrance of violets, aldehydes, jasmine, and the freshness of bergamot with lemon. The heart of Jardins de Bagatelle is textured, even more complex, where nine different flowers are harmoniously combined. The trail is fresh musky, of medium persistence, maintaining a certain distance from you.
The Guerlain Jardins de Bagatelle bottle, with its "draped" shoulder, subtly hints at a connection with the caryatid statues in that very magical garden.
