The ingredient Palo Santo ("Holy Wood") lies at the heart of the ceremonial fragrance Santo Incienso, Sillage Sacré. Perfumer Alexandra Monet was captivated by the legend that this tree was used in ancient times for communication with the divine. Through the method of "smudging" (in Latin per fumum, from which the term "perfumery" eventually originated), smoke was produced from it, carrying prayers and requests to God. It was also believed that the scent of this tree purifies the mind and protects against negative influences.
In reality, this magical tree grows in South America. The cutting of the Holy Wood is prohibited. Upon dying, it falls to the ground, where over the course of two years, it becomes imbued with the strength of nature, acquiring a different structure (the tree changes due to weather conditions, and so does its scent).
The intoxicating and extraordinary Santo Incienso, Sillage Sacré evokes the legendary ritual that becomes addictive. The perfume composition in the Extrait concentration is built around the accord of the Holy Wood, to which Musk adds a particular sensuality, contrasting the sparkling scent of Bergamot and the multifaceted sillage.
TESTER - A tester is a demonstration version of the fragrance provided by manufacturers with a batch of goods for the purpose of advertising at the point of sale. Please note that there are no differences (scent quality, durability, etc.) between the tester and the retail version! The only difference is that since testers are produced for advertising purposes, the manufacturing company does not pay as much attention to their packaging: they are offered in so-called technical packaging (a plain cardboard box, different from the one used for retail bottles) and often do not come with a cap. This is why testers are priced lower.
