Bile Acid Factors consist of a blend of highly concentrated bile acids (also referred to as bile acid salts), primarily in conjugated form, sourced from the US and/or New Zealand bovine bile.

Bile acids are produced in the liver, then stored and concentrated in the gallbladder, from where they are released into the small intestine through the bile duct. The main components of bile in Bile Acid Factors are glycocholate and taurocholate, which are crucial for the digestion and absorption of fats. In the small intestine, bile acids emulsify fats to aid in their absorption. A deficiency in bile acids results in impaired fat absorption and fatty stools (steatorrhea), characterized by diarrhea and floating stools. Moreover, a deficiency in bile acids compromises an individual's nutritional status, reducing the absorption of fats and fat-soluble nutrients. Conjugated bile acids have been demonstrated in clinical trials to be effective in improving fat absorption and nutritional status.
