Experts at Triuga Herbal have crafted a remarkable hair colorant for the ladies, a splendid henna that not only dyes locks a deep black but also significantly enhances their condition. Unlike chemical dyes, it does not damage the hair but instead restores its structure.
Basma has been known since ancient times and was widely used in ancient civilizations for coloring hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows. Like henna, it is made from the powdered leaves of a plant, but not Lawsonia, rather indigo. Its composition is enriched with vitamins and biologically active substances that nourish the scalp, strengthen the locks, and give them a healthy glow. This natural plant-based dye helps create a flawless look!
To dye hair in dark shades, mix henna with basma and add water (no cooler than 80°C), stirring until you achieve a sour cream-like consistency. Apply the slightly cooled mixture to dry, clean hair and put on a warming cap. The ratio of henna to basma should be adjusted individually depending on the desired color. The dyeing time ranges from 30 mins to 2 hrs. After dyeing, rinse the hair with water without shampoo. The final color will develop within 24 hours. It is not recommended to dye light hair without henna.
There are two methods of combining henna and basma – sequential and simultaneous.
For sequential dyeing, the hair is first dyed with henna as described above, and then with basma. Basma is prepared in the same way as henna, right before dyeing, but the solution should be slightly thinner. After the set time, wash the hair with warm water.
The duration depends on the desired shade, on average:
- 15-20 minutes (for a light brown shade);
- 1-1.5 hours (for a chestnut shade);
- 2-3 hours (for an intense black color).
For simultaneous dyeing, pour the necessary amount of henna and basma (50-200 g total depending on hair length) into a dish, add boiling water and stir until it forms a uniform paste, with the consistency of thick sour cream. To achieve the desired hair tone, a specific ratio of henna to basma is used.
To achieve:
- a light brown tone, mix 1 part henna with 1 part basma; the duration is 30 minutes;
- a light chestnut tone: 1 part henna to 1 part basma; the duration is 1 hour;
- a chestnut tone: 1 part henna to 2 parts basma; the duration is 1.5 hours;
- a bronze tone: 2 parts henna to 1 part basma; the duration is 1.5 hours;
- a black color: 1 part henna to 3 parts basma; the duration is 4 hours.
When dyeing hair with basma, it is advisable not to wash the hair with shampoo or any other alkaline product for at least three days after coloring.
If the hair turns out darker than desired after dyeing with basma, it can be rinsed with water acidulated with vinegar or lemon juice.
