To ensure maximum adhesion for any polymer material—be it gel polish, gel, or acrylic—to the nail plate, a special preparation involving buffing followed by dehydration and adhesion agents is necessary. This manicure tool is also useful for the final stage of the coating removal process.

The buffing block from the Ukrainian manufacturer, "Handwork" company, with a grit of 100 x 400, can be used both for removing remnants of polymer products with its coarser side and for creating the necessary roughness on the nail surface before applying the base coat with its gentler textured side. Its soft base promotes even treatment of the nail plates and mitigates excessive pressure.
