Silicone gel for the prevention and treatment of hypertrophic and keloid scars, effective for both new and old scars. It makes scars more aesthetically acceptable by improving their color, texture, and flexibility. The gel forms a protective semi-occlusive permeable film on the stratum corneum, which reduces transepidermal water loss and aids in the alignment of collagen fibers. Apply to a completely closed scar. Use a thin layer twice a day for a period of 2 to 6 months. Allow it to dry for a few minutes to form a semi-occlusive film. Gently remove any excess with a tissue if the gel does not dry completely.
