In 1840, when Englishman Edward Foxhall discovered sandalwood on the Isle of Pines in New Caledonia, it was still unknown in Europe. By the end of the 19th century, this noble, spicy tree had developed quite a lineage: it was called "chandana" in Sanskrit or "sandal" in Arabic, and was used as a precious balm for hair and body. Known for its calming properties, it still swirls through the smoke of Asian incense.
Top notes: Cardamom.
Heart notes: Sandalwood essential oil.
